Took a short run (2 mile easy) on the hotel treadmill before heading to the plant. Watched some superbowl hype on espn2. I'm not sick of superbowl coverage yet- suprising...
Weather forecast is for warmer weather today- hopefully wind will be less than yesterday.
Got back to the hotel at 5pm. It was 10F but minimal wind. I went out around the neighborhoods of LeClaire,IA for a an easy run of 5.35. First bit was right along the Mississippi- very pretty. Huge new houses. Several canada geese- I'd figure they'd have more sense then me and stay further south.
I listened to my first Podrunner.com track - a 150bpm segment called Square One. It took me awhile to get used to it- I'm used to podcasts where I'm concentrating on every word. After 5 minutes or so, it slipped in as a background theme song where I focused mostly on the road but was pushed along by the very percussive rhythm. It was cool. I've been struggling to find a good way to secure my ipod headphones- the two earphones do not cooperate and I've had to tape them on to get them to stop jumping around while I'm running. Today (and yesterday) I wore them under a hat which kept them secure. I finally could forget the darn things were there and just run. |
