Personal:

Born 1972 in north central Wisconsin

Married for 11 yrs to very supportive non-running wife. Two children : Fiona, 6 (in picture) and Elliott (2 yrs)

Co-Race Director of  Delano Park 12 Hour Run (www.delano12.com). President of River City Runners (www.rivercityrunners.org)

3 cats and 1 dog (chocolate lab)

In high school, I was an slightly overweight , badly asthmatic J.V. cross country runner.  I enjoyed being part of the team but never excelled.   The summer after my freshman year in college I decided to run a marathon.  6 weeks later I ran a 3:11 at Grandma's Marathon in Duluth (1991) and I was hooked on long distance running where my asthma wasn't as much of a factor.

Commuting on foot to work.

I'm so pleased with the time change.  Almost my entire morning run to work was in daylight.   listened to the latest This American Life via podcast - the halloween edition.  highlight was a very harrowing tale of a rural New Yorkers tussle with a rabid racoon.  Eye opening.   There was also a David Sedaris story about a medical examiners office which like most of his stuff is hilarious.

The chicken kill plant smelled especially disgusting this morning.  I normally tolerate it well and have somewhat pleasant flashbacks to my childhood but this morning I was glad to be free of the stench.

1:20 on the first leg.

Will leave early from work (worked 12 yesterday) to be able to vote this evening.  I'll be glued to CNN until the president is announced.

1:17 on the return trip.   Got in to vote at 5pm.  No line.   Only 1 other voter in the polling place.  5 people working there though.

Hmmm... "Easy miles," "Threshold miles," "Marathon pace miles," "Track speed mileage," "Hill mileage," .... but I don't see a category for "Bunny hops" anywhere..........

Hmmm... Has word somehow already leaked out about my running plans for this weekend? No comment.

I did hear from my sources that the world's most famous chocolate milk celebrity may be sighted in Huntsville this weekend.

Commuting to work on foot :-D !! Woot wOoT! You are amazing. As for chicken kill plant, I just threw up a bit in my mouth I think. Ew. I had a prof in undergrad who had to work at one of those and told us stories. Never looked at chicken the same again.
