Married for 11 yrs to very supportive non-running wife. Two children : Fiona, 5 (in picture) and Elliott (10 months)

Co-Race Director of  Delano Park 12 Hour Run (www.delano12.com) and Spirit of America 5 miler (www.spirit5mile.com). President of River City Runners (www.rivercityrunners.org)

In high school, I was an slightly overweight , badly asthmatic J.V. cross country runner.  I enjoyed being part of the team but never excelled.   The summer after my freshman year in college I decided to run a marathon.  6 weeks later I ran a 3:11 at Grandma's Marathon in Duluth (1991) and I was hooked on long distance running where my asthma wasn't as much of a factor.

Hadn't run in almost a week due to work and family obligations.  It was good in that I really needed a breat to heal up completely.

I got a little excited in my run-  combination of ipod playlist, good weather, and a pent-up desire to run.     I did a 7:10 mile and then a 6:30 paced quarter mile.  My hamstring started to tighten so I backed it off..

It felt the best it has since my 8hr run.

This evening its sore.

Good to see you're back at it. What's your next race?

Just some short stuff. Depot Days. Maybe big Spring jam. I'll likely do Dizzy Fifties - all you crazy fast runners will be at Pinhoti so maybe it will be a little less competitive. I may throw in another ultra before Rocket City but I'll have to wait and see.
